BLANTON, GAINES, HALSELL, LOFTIN, MORGAN posted by George K. Halsell on Wednesday, May 20, 1998

Searching for two lines: 1) ancestry of John BLANTON, early settler of Red River Co., and 2) any available information on William F. J. MORGAN and his wife, Sarah A. S. William MORGAN was a newspaperman and/or printer who was probably in the Red River Co. area around the 1850's & 1860's before moving to Jefferson, Marion Co., TX. 1880 Marion Co. census indicates MORGAN was born in TN. This census also lists all of his children with the surname GAINES, though newspaper accounts of his children use the MORGAN surname. It is possible that Sarah A. S. MORGAN was from Red River Co. Thank you!
