LACKEY, RODGERS, THOMLINSON posted by Bette Robinson on Saturday, June 6, 1998

RODGERS, John Blaine (b 18 May-1850) married Mary Epps TOMLINSON (B August,1852) on 14 Mar 1872 in RR CO. TX. Among their 9 or 10 children was daughter Jane Elizabeth RODGERS (b 4 Nov 1882) who married Marion Warner GOSSETT, (b c 9 Jan 1889) Either before or after Jane & Marion's marriage, they migrated northwest to Garfield CO., OK, and there produced their only child, my mother, Marion Australia GOSSETT.(b 9 Mar 1904). I believe Hugh F. RODGERS is John Blaine's father and Ann S. LACKEY is his mother, but I need to establish proof . Any help will be appreciated.

POSEY, PRESTON, WAGLEY posted by Michael Archer- Pauchet on Wednesday, June 10, 1998

I would be grateful for any information and/or records of Enos POSEY, born April 26, 1816, St. Claire County, Illinois, died April 16, 1857, Red River County. Married Mary WAGLEY, December 23, 1847, Red River County. Also any information and/or records concerning his son, Eri McNab POSEY, born December 31, 1850, Red River County, died February 25, 1916, Red River County. Married Laura Belle PRESTON, May 10, 1883, Red River County. Alledgedly, Enos was a lawyer who taught at an academy located south of present day Clarksville and is buried in the Clarksville cemetery. His son, Eri was alledgedly county judge for Red River County for 20 years and is buried in the Boxelder cemetery. Eri was also supposedly conscripted by members of the 32nd Texas Calvary, CSA, while a teenager at school but I have no substantiation for this. Any assistance will be appreciated.

DUNN, MARTIN, MOBLEY posted by Nadine Grubbs Smith on Monday, June 22, 1998

I am researching my MARTIN line & would appreciate any information or leads that you can give me.  Here is what I have so far: 1...William MARTIN m. Mary Ann (Unknown) & they had the following children: 2...Mary Ann MARTIN, b. March 15, 1858 in TN, d. November 28, 1931 in Carroll County,  MS.... m. ( 1 ) John MOBLEY in Giles Co., TN on March 16, 1877              3... John MOBLEY (only known child from this marriage) m. ( 2 ) George David DUNN in Carroll Co.,  MS on December 25, 1879, had several children from this marriage:              3...Frances (Fannie) Jane DUNN              3...Alice DUNN              3...William DUNN              3...Lizzie DUNN              3...James DUNN (died at about 2 years old)              3...Katie DUNN              3...Sarah (Sally) Rebekkah DUNN              3...Georgia Ola DUNN              3...Ada DUNN              3...Elma Cain DUNN 2...Betty MARTIN, m.  Will Beam 2...Becky MARTIN, m. ( 1 ) Jack Crumpler, ( 2 ) George Matheny 2...William ( Bill ) MARTIN, never married 2...Tom MARTIN, m. Lou UNKNOWN 2...Benny MARTIN, died at about 18 years of age. My information shows that the whole family could possibly have been in OK around 1874 - 1877 (from family reports but not yet proven with documentation). They were in Giles County, TN in 1877 &  in Carroll County, MS in 1879, both these dates coincide with the daughter / Mary Ann's, marriages. I also show that William & Mary Ann MARTIN died in Cuthand, Red River County, TX.  I do know that some of my DUNN line (which, of course, is Mary Ann's last husband's name) went to TX from Carroll County,  MS.  It is possible that the MARTINs & DUNNs traveled together.  I have seen reference to DUNN / MARTIN marriages in TX but have no proof of connections to my lines. I don't know who the ancestors of William & Mary Ann MARTIN were. t is also said that there is a strong Native American (Cherokee?) connection to William & Mary Ann MARTIN ....maybe through each of them. I would also be interested in any information on the John MOBLEY line.  I have never been able to find Mary Ann MARTIN MOBLEY DUNN's son from this marriage. In advance, thank you for any help you can give.

COFFMAN, PILES posted by G.A. Gieger on Saturday, June 27, 1998

Searching for Maria Jane Jarrell (PILES) Coffman, who was born in St. Louis, MO in 1845 and married James COFFMAN in Red-River County, TX in 1868. They had seven children and she died from Pneumonia in November 1884. The PILES surname listed in the marriage record and the date of 1868 lead me to think she might be a Civil War Widow. Will correspond with anyone having information, no matter how seemingly insignificant.
