Simeon CLEMENTS b. 1792, in Grandville N.C. d1870 in Red River Co.. For anyone researching this family (my gggrandparents), they are buried in the Scott Cemetery out of Detroit Tx. I am interested in finding anyone who is researching my family.I have a lot on the CLEMENTS except for my ggrandmother, Emily E.CLEMENTS HUEY who was raised in Clarksville, lived in Cook Co. after marrying and died in Grayson Co. Don't know where buried.

Looking for any info on ggrandmother, Rosa Lee LATIMER--b: March 6, 1883 in RED RIVER County, TX/d: May 12, 1954 in Paris, Lamar County, TX. She married (1)James Monroe Grimes--b: November 23, 1860 in TX/d: May 18, 1920 in Deport, Red River County, TX. They were married on December 4, 1898 in Clarksville, Red River County, TX. The info that I have is that Rosa's parents were James LATIMER & Bettie WILLIAMS. The parents of James were John Latimer & Sarah E. ?. The parents of Bettie were Frank WILLIAMS & Elizabeth ?. All of the info on Rosa's parents have been passed down through relatives. There is a story of James Monroe GRIMES wandering up on the LATIMER's property for work, met Rosa and stated he was going to marry her. He had to wait til she was 17. My grandfather Hugh Clifford GILLIAM, has not been seen or heard form since 1922. Surely he has passed. I have traced a link to a possibility in Detroit Red River County. This person is said to have passed on 15/8/69 and had a S.S. no of 466229402. According to my mother, he was a very tall redhaired man who was of Irish extraction. He was relocated to the U.S. in 1922 and bound for Mississippi.I am looking for possible family. Thanks and regards, Denise Wilshire

Red River County 1910 Census 1910 Red River Co., TX Census lists a Josephine GRAYSON, widow, living with son Jackson G. GRAYSON in 1910. Also listed were Anner b. 1896, Willis L. b. 1898, and General Jackson born 1903. Josephine was the widow of General Sam Houston GRAYSON. They were on the 1870 and 1880 census of Jefferson, Marion Co., TX. Known children of Gen. Sam Houston and Josephine GRAYSON were Zulunkie, Ida, Jackson G., Gen. Sam Houston, Jr., Belle, and Jesse. The 1900 census of Red River County shows my grandmother, Lillian WHITE, listed as an infant with her parents. She later married Ollie D. BELL b. 1899 in MO. Any information on the WHITE family in RR County would be greatly appreciated. Sorry I haven't any further details.

My ggrandfather Lewis Franklin CANTERBURY lived in Yarnaby, OK, but came to Red River Co. to marry Elva May POOL, in May of 1883. I need a connection to this county and why he married here. I know of no other link to earlier CANTERBURYs, particularly the John CANTERBURY family. Lewis Franklin was born in Savannah, Hardin Co., TN, 1866. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
