Am researching all Autrey lines in Red River County, as well as in Bowie and Cass counties. Have been researching since 1982. Robert Martin AUTREY and Elizabeth Jane KEMP were married in 1840 in Perry County, Al. He is the son of Absalom AUTREY and Elizabeth NORRIS, Absalom born in 1802, N.C. Robert moved with his family from Ala. to Dubach, La. and married there to Elizabeth Jane KEMP about 1865. Robert Martin AUTREY purchased land in Coryell County; he sold it in 1874. He returned to Dubach, La. and left again in 1877 and on the way to Bowie County, he stopped the wagon for the birth of his sixth child, Colvin Abraham AUTREY. He and Jane had: William Absalom, Elbert Eugene, Edfward Monroe, Cisero Theodore, Columbia Anna and Calvin Abraham. Robert Martin AUTREY had other family members already in Bowie County, which at one time was part of Coryell. Would love to trade infor with others searching these lines.

I am trying to confirm if James & Rhoda HARRIS lived in/around Gainsville, TX abt 1850. They were parents of Elizabeth HARRIS (g-grandmother). Our family story goes that she & her husband, William Larimore, lived in Cole Co., MO. She was very ill and William was taking her to visit her parents when she died at abt 30 yrs "just over the border of TX & OK and was buried in Gainsville". My information places James & Rhoda in Pisgah, MO where Elizabeth was born. I want to confirm if that HARRIS family moved to TX.
