Looking for information on the members of the William Carroll CARPENTER family that moved to Red River County, Texas from South Central Kentucky (via Arkansas) about 1890. Either Julie F., b. 1871, or Sidney, b. 1864 (both female) CARPENTER (CARPENTER is their maiden name) lived in Annona when their brother George died in Lamar County in 1923. The other sister had moved to Dallas by this time. No marriage records in this county for them, so they were either already married or did not marry.

Am looking for descendants of Mary Magdalene (Gieger) (West) LINDSEY, (b28Mar1833MS\d17Apr1919TX). She first married James Nelson WEST, who was killed at the Battle of Baker's Creek during the siege of Vicksburg in 1863. Soon thereafter, she married a John LINDSEY in Caldwell Parish, LA, and bore two sons, Benjamin and Eugene, but Mr. LINDSEY's place of death and burial has not been ascertained. She is the mother of Aquila Mozette WEST who lived near Bagwell in the 1885-1930 timeframe, and was the grandson-in-law of Lovell and Catherine (Howard) COFFMAN. Will correspond with LINDSEY, GIEGER, COFFMAN, and WEST descendants having roots in MS, LA, and TX.

In the 1850 census he was listed as a 25 year old student living with a Thomas and Amanda RAGSDALE. I believe he was kin to the RAGSDALES because of his middle name. What we don't know is who his parents were and where they came from. I do know that he is listed in Wilson County in 1860. He was a doctor, however, we cannot locate any school that knows of him. so, the question is did he attend medical school and where or did he just practice medicine as many did back then. if you can be of any help, please let me know
