Rockwall County
From the old Rockwall County Courthouse square, travel north 2.2 miles on Goliad Street (Hiway 205). Turn left (west) on W. Quail Run. Parker Cemetery is .6 mile at the end of the road.
There are several broken headstones and some graves marked only with
broken pieces of tombstones, rocks, plantings of iris & other foilage and stumps.
The niece of Burrell H Parker - Sarah Gore - was the first person buried here. The site was on a hill overlooking the East Fork of the Trinity River, on his homestead, and he had picked the spot for a family graveyard. He was buried there three years later and is surrounded by his wife, family and neighbors on the hill.It is not known why the iron gate has the date of establishment "1898", as there are clearly dozens of burials before that year.
