Robbie Franklin Burns

 

Robbin Franklin burns was born April 5, 1903 in Van Zandt County, Texas, the son of George and Oleva Burns. He died Saturday, January 25, 1997 at his residence in Sterling city. He worked for the Highway Department of Texas for almost 40 years in different areas of Texas. He also worked on several ranches and a farm in various areas. He worked in Sterling city on jobs while he was working for the Highway Department. After retirement from the Highway Department in 1965, he worked with various horses on ranches in Sterling county until 1984. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Ligon Burns, whom he married in 1949; two sisters Lillie Montitihe of Hawkins and Bessie Booth of Odessa; one brother, George burns Jr. of Odessa, several nieces and nephews and several family friends. Gravesides service was held on January 27 in Montvale Cemetery with David Burk officiating. Arrangements were by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
