Walter R. Davis, 94, departed this life on
Wednesday, July 30, 2003 from a long lengthy illness. He was born on
July 18, 1909 at Sterling City, Texas. Walter left this life as a
Christian and his next breath was with Christ his savior. Walter and
Janet served the Lord ministering to shut-ins and hospital patients. He
taught Sunday school and had bible classes in apartment complexes. He
was a devoted member of Gardendale Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his mother Lucy,
and father Roy; two sons: Leslie and Jack Davis.
Walter is survived by his wife Janet M.
Davis; two sons: Roy Davis (Shirley) of Houston, Texas, Perry Davis
(Edna) of New Boston, Texas; one daughter Betty Mahan of Euless, Texas.
He has 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and four great-great
grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 1,
2003 from 1:00 pm. until 8:00 pm Saturday, August 2, 2003 from 9:00 a.m.
until service.
Service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2003
at 3:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Chapel.
Interment to follow.
