Notes for Mary Ever IRVIN:
Mary Ever was born 25 Mar. 1884, in Morris County. The family lived near County Line Church at the time. She was the daughter of Nicholas Miller IRVIN and Mary Elizabeth GARNER. The IRVINs and the GARNERs came to Texas after the Civil War, landed in Jefferson. Nicholas IRVIN owned a shingle / saw mill in Coffeeville, Upshur County and that's where Mary Ever and Walter married. By 1908, when Gorden was born, Nicholas and Mary E. IRVIN had moved to Harris Chapel, (about 6 miles toward Hughes Springs on 161) and started a new mill. They had two houses on the property, a large main house and a smaller one nearby. Mattie IRVIN TRUITT and Buddy TRUITT lived in the main house with Nick and Mary E. and Mary Ever and Walter lived in the other house. Gorden and Vera TRUITT WELCH, were born the same night.
