Loftis Cemetery

July 22, 1831 - June 30, 1877
Napolean Lafayette Loftis, born the son of James H. Loftis (born 1815 SC) & Sarah Leannah Brown Loftis (born 1821 Tn. - Died Rusk Co., Tx.).  He married Mary Moore on 31 Dec 1865 in Rusk Co., Texas.   They were parents of Laura Louisa Jane Elizabeth Loftis (1877 – 1959).  Enlisted in Salem, Rusk Co., Tx. in the Confederate Army, Co. F, 6th Regiment, Texas Cavalry (Wharton, Stone's) and 7th Regiment, Texas Cavalry (7th Mounted Volunteers).  Captured Battle of Bayou Teche, La., April 19, 1863.  Paroled Port Hudson, La., May 11, 1863.

Mary Moore Loftis
April 9, 1850 - July 26, 1878

Several unmarked graves, and also some rock and cement slabs.
