GLADEWATER -- Services for Jack Adams, 74, of Dallas, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 
2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel of Gladewater, with Buddy Mills officiating. 
Burial will be in Gladewater Memorial Park. Born August 9, 1931, in Gladewater, Texas, 
to Ben F. and Nannie Leo Adams, he died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, after a brief illness. 
He was a 1949 graduate of Gladewater High School and attended Kilgore College. A veteran 
of the United States Air Force, he was stationed in the Philippines during the Korean War. 
He received a bachelor of arts degree, a master of science degree and a master of education 
degree from East Texas State University. On July 23, 1960, he married Anecia Vessels. His 
teaching career began in Crozier Tech High School, and then he became coordinator of the 
Dallas Skills Center. Later he was the director of Adult Education at Skyline High School, 
retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Tejas Social Club, the Gladewater Masonic Lodge 852, 
Texas State Teachers Association and the National Education Association. He is survived by 
his wife, Anecia Vessels Adams of Dallas; three daughters, Angelia Jae Edwards of Sumner, 
Karla Lynn Adams of Dallas, and Kecia Renee Adams-Wright of Keller; four granddaughters, 
Jenny Lynn, Presley Blair, Harmony Gabrielle and Melody Isabelle Edwards; two sisters, 
Helen Thomas and Jo Nell Lucky, both of Gladewater; three nieces, Brenda Brackeen of 
Gladewater, Jody King and Marti McGahn, both of Cleveland; and three great-nephews and 
three great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, J.G. Adams. 
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, specified for pancreatic cancer 
research, P.O. Box 906, Longview, Texas 75606. The family will receive friends from 7-9 
p.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.

Croley Funeral Home Chapel of Gladewater, with Buddy Mills officiating. Burial followed 
in Gladewater Memorial Park.

Born on August 9, 1931, he died on Wednesday, May 10, 2006. He was a veteran of the
