CHARLES W. BOWIN DIED FRIDAY AFTER A PROLONGED ILLNESS Gilmer Mirror, October 1939 Submitted by: Lea Ann Tedford After a long illness, Mr. Charlie W. Bowin died Friday morning, at the age of 73 years. His home was between Latch and Pritchett. A resident and farmer of this county for about 50 years, Mr. Bowin had a host of friends who will learn with regret of his passing. Besides his widow he leaves five children. Four of them live in this county; Mrs. Mryl Cox, Mrs. Jewell Stephens, Mr. Ed Bowin and Miss Leslie Bowin. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements were not completed this afternoon, but it is likely burial will be on Saturday.
