Brooks Jr., Rev. Luther 

GILMER -- Services for the Rev. Luther Brooks Jr., 77, of 
Gilmer, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006, at First 
Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Huey "C" Jones 
officiating. Burial will be in Summerfield Community 
Cemetery. Arrangements are by Turner Bros. Mortuary. Rev. 
Brooks died June 15, 2006, in Gilmer. Born April 23, 1929, 
in Gilmer, he was pastor of Mount Gilead Baptist Church and 
a lifelong Upshur County resident. Survivors include his sons, 
Bernard D. Brooks, Don E. Brooks, Billy Coleman, and Eddie 
Coleman; daughters, Lucille Brooks Mack, Wilma J. Brooks, 
Beverly Thomas, Warnez Brooks, Donna Brooks, Lanette Brooks, 
and Charlotte Brooks; brothers, the Rev. Melvin Brooks and 
Frank J. Brooks; and sisters, Daisy Odom, Connie Mack, and 
Annette Carter. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. today at the 
funeral home.
