(March 27, 1935 - August 30, 2014)

Services for Johnnie L. Baird, 79, of Big Sandy, will be held 5 PM Monday, 
September 1, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Brother 
Chad Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy. 
Mr. Baird passed away on Saturday, August 30, in Tyler.

He was born March 27, 1935 in Big Sandy to J.W. and Edith Baird. Johnnie 
served in the Army, Was a Master Mason and 50 year member with the Big Sandy 
Masonic Lodge, was a former Mayor of Big Sandy, a member of Gilmer Country 
Club where he enjoyed playing golf, and an elder at the Big Sandy First 
Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Edith Baird and his wife, 
Betty Baird.

Johnnie is survived by his sister: Shelba Barrow; niece: Barbara Davis; nephew, 
James Barrow; special friend, Shirley Edmondson; stepchildren: Margie Wilding, 
Charlie Carlton and Lawton Carlton.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 5 PM before the service. In lieu of 
flowers, donation may be made to the Big Sandy First Christian Church, P.O. 
Box 1124, Big Sandy, TX 75755.
