Bowie, Dr. Linzy 

GLADEWATER -- Services for Dr. Linzy Bowie, 89, of Big Sandy, will be 11 a.m. 
Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, with the Rev. 
Gary Chalk and the Rev. A.R. Mayfield officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove 
Cemetery of Big Sandy. Arrangements are by Dearion & Davis Funeral Parlor. Dr. 
Bowie died April 2, 2006, in Tyler. Born January 1, 1917, he was a retired CME 
minister, educator, civil leader, Shriner, and member of St. Luke Masonic Lodge 
No. 173. Survivors include his wife, Roye Lee Bowie; and children, Linda Bowie 
and Oscar Ray. Visitation will be noon-7 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, at the 
funeral parlor, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, prior to services, at the college campus.
