Bonner Everett Butler Rogersville Funeral for Bonner Everett Butler, 84, formerly of Decatur, will be Friday, May 25, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Holt officiating. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Butler, who died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, was born Oct. 26, 1922, in Gilmer, Texas, to Judge Monroe Butler and Lelia Covin Butler. He was a veteran of World War II having served in Normandy and four other European Battles as a combat engineer. He owned and operated Ma and Pa Groceries located on 19th Avenue SE, Decatur, for 17 years and retired from A.C. Electronics in Huntsville as the manufacturing manager. Formerly of Decatur, he moved to Rogersville in 1994, where his daughter Lana resides, when he began to have health problems. While living in Rogersville, he enjoyed fishing and gardening with his best friend, Hazel Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mavis Butler; three brothers; and one sister. Survivors include two daughters, Lana Mobley and her husband, George, of Rogersville and Carol Polston of Decatur; three sons, Bill Butler and Richard Butler and his wife, Jennifer, all of Decatur and Larry Butler and his wife, Robin, of Harvest; one sister, Marjorie Pickett of Gilmer, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kerr, Kenneth Parker, Tyler Mobley, Jimmy Ritter, Curtis "Bull" Nelson and Brock Butler. The family of Bonner Butler would like to say thank you to Dr. Neal Roberts and Dr. Lane Price for giving our dad the best medical care we could have ever asked for. Thanks so much.
