Caldwell, Clifford GILMER -- Clifford Caldwell, 63, of Woodville, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at Dogwood Trails Manor in Woodville, after a 4 year bout with cancer. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006, at Kelsey Cemetery in Kelsey, under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Phillip Bryant will officiate the services. Clifford was born September 9, 1942, in Longview, to James Edward and Effie Ziella Hamberlin Caldwell. He was formerly of Humble and had lived in Woodville for the past 14 years. He had worked for Chevron Chemical, Texas Eastman, and the Texas Department of Corrections. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Norma Caldwell of Woodville; mother, Ziella Sullivan of Gilmer; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly Christine and Harold Jones of Humble, and Leslie Robin and Todd Gunnels of Atascocita; brothers, Bill Sullivan and Peter John Sullivan, both of Gilmer; sisters, Sharon McGaha-Wilson of Athens, Caesar Mae Johnson of Utah, and Molly Cox of Louisville, Ky.; and eight grandchildren. Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m. Thursday evening, August 31, 2006, at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville. An additional visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, September 1, 2006, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 9/1/2006.
