Canterbury, Flora L. "Granny" 


GLADEWATER -- Services for Flora L. "Granny" Canterbury will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, 
June 6, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home with Dr. Joe C. Hocking officiating. 
Interment will be in Gladewater Memorial Park. Mrs. Canterbury was born in 
Millshoals, Illinois, on April 30, 1920, to George and Louella Rister. She passed 
away Saturday, June 3, 2006, in Gladewater. She was a Baptist and retired from 
Gladewater Memorial Hospital after many years of service. Left to cherish her 
memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Marshal Thompson of Gladewater, 
and Mary and George Greider of Houston; grandchildren, Tina Herring, Tim Goodman, 
Terry Goodman, Nena Greider, Julie Thomas, and Michelle Davidson; and 12 
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward 
Canterbury; and son, Larry Canterbury. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, June 
5, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Donations may be made to Greater 
Hospice of Texas, 1905 W. Loop 281, Space 81, Longview, TX 75604.
