Capps, Marion Jane "Sis" DIANA -- Marion Jane "Sis" Capps, age 87, passed from this life on February 22, 2006. Her long battle with heart failure ended at her home in Longview, Texas, on Wednesday morning. After a separation of over 31 years, she now joins her beloved husband, "Bill," in heaven. She leaves behind a host of friends and relatives, including five children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind one brother, Ben Wright; sisters, Dorothy Ash and Minnie Moudry; and three brothers-in-law, Ivan, Ira and Charles Capps, all of the Birmingham, Ala., area; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Wright of Diana. They moved to Birmingham, Ala., where over the years that followed, most family members worked at jobs related to the steel-making industry. Marion married Jess W. "Bill" Capps in 1937. Five years and three children later, they moved to Houston. The family had grown to five children by 1953, when in June of that year, they moved to Diana. In 1955, they moved to Ore City. While in Ore City, Marion was active in the Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Garden Club, PTA and Scouts. She also worked part-time as a wedding caterer. Marion's children are Shirley Smith and husband, William "Bill", of White Oak, James Capps and wife, Trena, of Mount Pleasant, David Capps and wife, Glenda, of Longview, Sandi Foster and husband, Sid, of Longview, and Janice Schellinger and husband, James, of Sache (Dallas).
