Chapman, William Robert GILMER -- Memorial services for William Robert Chapman, 88, of Gilmer, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, with Jeff Procter officiating. Mr. Chapman died Wednesday, October 25, 2006, in Longview, Texas. He was born December 22, 1917, in Ennis, Texas, to James Melton and Mary Weverka Chapman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was custodian for Gilmer Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian I. Moser Chapman on December 30, 2000; parents; four brothers, Jack Vernon Chapman, James Campbell Chapman, Johnny Chapman, and Shirley Kent Chapman; and three sisters, Ione Chapman Morrow, Mary Francis Chapman Rackley, and Catherine Elizabeth Chapman Ferguson. Mr. Chapman is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jenny Chapman of Daingerfield; daughter and son-in-law, LuAnne and William B. "Hoppy" Feinstein of White Bluff, Tennessee; one grandchild, Melissa Dawn Hall; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Hall and Grace Hall. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 10/27/2006.
