Childress, Robert Gerald 


GILMER -- Services for Robert Gerald Childress, 81, of Gilmer, 
are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Croley 
Funeral Home Chapel of Gilmer, with Brother O.D. Oliver and 
Brother Todd Kaunitz officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset 
Memorial Park of Gilmer. Mr. Childress died Sunday, June 25, 
2006, in Tyler. Mr. Childress was born February 14, 1925, in 
Gilmer, to J.H. "Buck" Childress and Lillie Rebecca Buie 
Childress. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. 
Childress was an accountant and a member of First Baptist 
Church in Gilmer. He is survived by his wife, Lena Childress 
of Gilmer; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Sherry Childress 
of Gilmer, and Mark Childress of Gilmer; grandchildren, Bradley 
Childress, Ciara Johnson, Jeremy Childress, Meagan Childress, 
and Faith Stanley; and great-grandchild, Cason Johnson. 
Pallbearers will be Lynn Vick, Kenneth Johnson, Ronnie Keel, 
Rex Shaw, Gary Keel, Richard Brown, John King, and Mark Hall.
