MARIE CHITWOOD Contributed by Barbara Pollard 1993 in Jacksonville, Texas Services for Mrs. Marie "Ree" Chitwood, 80, Jacksonville, formerly of Gilmer and Austin, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville with the Revs. Doug Wilson and Ken Vanderslice officiating. Burial will follow in the Corine Cemetery near Jacksonville. Mrs. Chitwood died Tuesday in a Jacksonville hospital after an extended illness. She was born June 1, 1912 in Pritchett and lived in Jacksonville for 15 years. She was retried from State School for Deaf and Blind in Austin. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Corine and was founder of W.M.A. She was past state president of W.M.W. and a lifetime resident. Survivors include her husband, Earl Chitwood, Jacksonville; a son, and daughter-in-law, James and June Stephens, Winnsboro; a daughter, Joanna Stephens, Conroe; four brothers, Glynn Arrington, Gilmer, Preston Arrington, Rozell Arrington and Maurice Arrington, all of Pritchett; a sister, and brother-in-law, Grace and Charles White, Gilmer; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Stephens, Tyler and Stacey Ann Holly, Whitehouse; two great-grandchildren, Ashlee Holley and Brandon Holley, both of Tyler and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Matt Montgomery, Harold Gray, Bobby Arrington, Robbie Arrington, Jeff Stephens and John Holley.
