Comer, Mont G. 


Mont G. Comer, 75, of Diana, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2006. Born January 25, 1931, in Ada, Oklahoma, he was a 30-year resident of Diana. Mont retired from Arco Oil and Gas. Mr. Comer served in the U.S. Army and Reserves for a total of 40 years. Mont and Betty were united in marriage on August 11, 1950, in Ada, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his sister, Zana Chapman; wife, Betty Comer; and daughter, Betty Fain Traylor. He is survived by his daughter, Mara Lou Shires of Minden; son, Mont Gregory Comer of Diana; grandchildren, Sam Comer of Diana, Matthew Comer, Michael Comer, Ben Shires, Lacey Shires, and Kristen Shires; and great-grandchildren, Briley Comer, Brynna Comer, and Madison Shires. A memorial service for Mont will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Pinetree Church of Christ. Cremation arrangements are by East Texas Funeral Home of Longview.
