Covin, Valrie McBride 
 

DIANA -- Graveside services for Valrie McBride Covin will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, 
January 26, 2006, at Mattox Cemetery in Diana, Texas, with the Reverend Neal 
Thornburg officiating. Services are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home 
in Diana. Mrs. Covin passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2006, in Longview. Mrs. Covin 
was born March 1, 1929, in Morton, Harrison County, Texas, to Herbert and Annie 
McBride. She was a member of Walnut Creek Church in Diana, Texas. Survivors include 
her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Charles Guinn, Donna and Winston Payne, 
and Lanita and Merrell Mitchell, all of Longview, Texas; and four grandsons, Carl 
Sims, Bryan Guinn, and Tron and Tanner Pate. She was preceded in death by her 
parents; and her husband, Bryan Covin. Visitation for Mrs. Covin will be held 6-8 
p.m. this evening, January 25, 2006, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Memorials 
may be made to the New Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund, 202 Eagle Rd., Gilmer, 
TX 75645; and/or the Tanner Pate College Fund, 665 Henderson Rd., Longview, TX 75605.
