SIDNEY R. COX TAKEN BY DEATH
 
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10:30 at Cross Roads 
Baptist Church for Sidney Riggs Cox, 62, who died Monday night in a 
local hospital after an illness of three weeks.

Mr. Cox was born and reared in the county and spent his life farming 
in the Cross Roads community.

Survivors are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Pettit, Mrs. 
Allena May and Mrs. Dorthy Stilwell; a nephew, Raymond Paul Adkisson, 
whom Mr. Cox had reared as a son since early youth; two brothers, 
Ezra and Emerson Cox; sis siters, Mrs. Vera Willingham, Mrs. Odie 
Adkisson, Mrs. Gertrude Hill, Mrs. Shrelda Baird, Mrs. Bessie Vessel.
Two grandsons and two granddaughters survive also.

The Rev. R.E. Ferguson, assisted by the Rev. Obie Baker, officiated at 
the services which were arranged by Croley Funerl Home.

Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
