Caffey, Dorothy Nunnally "Dot" GLADEWATER --Services for Dorothy "Dot" Nunnally Caffey, 84, of Gladewater, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Rodger Garbs and Larry W. Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Gladewater Memorial Park. Born August 25, 1922, in Gilmer, Texas, she died on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at her residence. She graduated from Gilmer High School and North Texas State University. Her teaching career began in the Gladewater Independent School District and extended to Hawkins Independent School District and Big Sandy Independent School District. An active church member and teacher at the Gladewater First United Methodist Church, she was also past president of the Dorcas Bible Study Club and a member of the Longview Christian Women's Connection. She was, in addition, a member of the Gladewater Garden Club. Þ ¤ She never missed an opportunity to pray for and encourage others during difficult times, and she will be sorely missed by children and pets as well as church members, family and faculty members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Eugene and Bonnie Bessie Stephens; husband, John Nunnally; husband, Ballard Caffey; and son, Randall Jay "Randy" Nunnally. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Larry Holly of Longview; and one grandson, David Randall Holly of Longview. She is also survived by Ballard's children, W.B. Caffey Jr. and his wife, J.J., and Virginia Caffey Pate and her husband, Bob; four beloved stepgrandchildren; and numerous stepgreat- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be members of the Caffey Friendship Class of the First United Methodist Church. The family wishes to thank Texas Home Health Hospice and Trudy Godwin for the tender and loving care they provided.
