Essie Faye Callaway 
(October 26, 1930 - September 2, 2014) 

Funeral services for Mrs. Essie Faye Callaway, 83, of Big Sandy, will be 
held 10:00 A.M Friday, September 5, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in 
Gilmer with Bobby Barnett and Donny Sapp officiating. Interment will follow 
at Locust Grove Cemetery in Upshur County. Mrs. Callaway passed away on 
Tuesday, September 5, 2014 in Gilmer.

She was born October 26, 1930 in Crowley, Texas to Charles Morrell and Ella 
V. Floyd Morrell. On August 29, 1948 she married Alvin Callaway and lived in 
this area for the last 8 years. Mrs. Callaway was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her children, Carl Callaway and 
Mary Elaine Smith.

Mrs. Callaway is survived by her husband of 66 years, Alvin Callaway of Big 
Sandy; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Deborah Callaway of Big Sandy, Troy 
and Angel Callaway of Victoria, Texas, Les and Mrae of Flagstaff, Arizona; 
daughters and sons-in-law, Lorene and Bobby Barnett of Roswell, NM, Clara and 
Earnest Cardona of Farmington, NM and Rachael Callaway of Idaho Springs, 
Colorado.; four brothers; one sister; 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren 
and 9 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Callaway services will be, Roy Callaway, Troy Callaway, 
Robert Barnett, Travis Callaway, Ed Morrell and John Morrell.

No formal visitation is scheduled.
