Collins, Jim Thomas GILMER - Services for Jim Thomas Collins, 41, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with the Reverend David Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Morris Cemetery of Upshur County. Mr. Jim Thomas Collins left his earthly home for his eternal home with Jesus on March 18, 2007. He was born February 15, 1966, in Dallas, to Haywood Collins Jr. and Laura Painter Collins. He was a painter for Jerry Gaston of Gaston Custom Painting. He was formerly of Longview, and had been a resident of Gilmer for the last two years. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Laura Painter. He is survived by his wife, Penny Hanes Collins of Gilmer; father, Haywood Collins Jr. of Gilmer; daughters, Laura Prator Maxwell of Anchorage, Alaska and Ashley Cline of Dennison; one brother, Haywood "Woody" Collins of Royce City; one sister, Lesley Collins of Tyler; two stepbrothers, Ronnie Parsons of Spring and Michael Parsons of Longview; two stepsisters, Jennifer Jennings of Gilmer and Lynda Moore of Kilgore; nephew, Kent Collins of Royce City; niece, Megan Collins of Royce City; and several step nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jim loved to play golf, fish, watch the Dallas Cowboys and was "rich in family." We will miss you, Jim Bo. Pallbearers will be Lee Patterson, Dale Hightower, Rex Collins, Joey Hightower, Logan Collins and Steve "Pitt" Baker.
