Coyle, Newton Lamar GILMER - Services for Newton Lamar Coyle, 80, of Gilmer, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, with Jeff Proctor, Gilmer Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Newton Lamar Coyle was born January 10, 1927, in Peach, Texas. He died, November 18, 2007, in Longview, Texas. Newt served his country in World War II, the Korean War, and retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. After retirement from the Navy, he began a second career with Tektonix Company as a field engineer. He retired from that company after 20 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, and mother of his two sons, Nelda Baird Coyle. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Birdie Lemmond Coyle; his only brother, Jerry Coyle; and his second wife, Doris Gardner Coyle. He was a member of the Gilmer Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge in Gilmer, Fleet Reserve Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he served for several years as a member of the Honor Guard. Mr. Coyle is survived by his wife, Dorothy Clemens Coyle; his sons and their wives, Jerry and Charlotte Coyle of Richardson and David and Tori Coyle of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Larry and Sally Clemens, Jeff and Lanette Clemens, Jason and Tina Clemens, Amy Clemens and Maria West; three sisters, Louise Campbell, Maysel Watkins, and Janet Hasley and her husband, Red Hasley, who Newt loved as a brother; five grandchildren, Benjamin and Hillary Coyle, Jacob Coyle, Rachel Coyle, and Kace and Keaton Coyle; eight step- grandchildren, Sara and Danny Clark, Luke Clemens, Jered Clemens, Laren Clemens, Jayna Clemens; and other grandchildren, April and Jason Van Loan, Ryan Juarez and Lauren Zipser.
