UPSHUR COUNTY - SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK


Another precious angel was called home when “Bernie” Crossland, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2016. Laverne “Bernie” Crossland was born on July 31, 1932 in Gober, Texas to Jack and Effie Wigley.

Mrs. Crossland was a homemaker and a member of Gilmer Church of Christ. Mr. John and Laverne Crossland were longtime residents of Gilmer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and leaves behind lots of memories to cherish.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Crossland; two daughters, Debbie Baird and her husband, Jack, Glenda Jester and her husband, Clyde; granddaughter, Tammy Bowers and her husband, Justin; four great grandchildren, Wesley Creager, Paxton Creager, Emily Bowers and Jace Bowers.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Crossland’s service will be Arthur Carter, Danny Hughes, Gary Hughes, Luke Misenheimer, Ed Robertson and Stan Wigley.

Funeral services for Laverne “Bernie” Crossland, 84, of Little Rock, Arkansas will be held at 10:00 A. M., on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Mark Engle officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
