GLADEWATER MEMORIAL - UPSHUR COUNTY — Funeral services for Norma Jill Cureton, 55, of Mount Pleasant, will be 4 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Gladewater, with Welton Jones and Bro. Bailey Harris officiating. Interment will be in Gladewater Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Mrs. Cureton passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, in a Tyler hospital. Mrs. Cureton was born December 25, 1958, in Gladewater, to Edgar Ralph Dees Jr. and Martha Jo Dees. She was a substitute teacher with Mount Pleasant ISD and was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Cureton is survived by her mother, Martha Jo Nichols of Gladewater; sisters and spouses, Peggy Dees Menefee of Mount Pleasant, Nancy Dees Long and Edd Long of Gladewater, Beth Dees McKamy of Gladewater and Shirley Dees Summers and Warren Summers of Shawnee, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her dad, Edgar Ralph "ER" Dees Jr.; and brother-in-law, Leland Max Menefee. Pallbearers will be Edd Long, Chris Long, Dallas Long, Jason King, Greg Baker and Randy Calloway. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Tedder, Jimmy Walker, Bobby Armstrong, Ricky Armstrong, Leo Willeford, Bryan Kelly and Charles Manning. No formal visitation is scheduled.
