Davis, Bob Delone GILMER -- Services for Bob Davis, 69, of East Mountain, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer, with the Reverend Charles Johnson and the Reverend Aubrey Pate officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery. Mr. Davis passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2006, in Gilmer. Mr. Davis was born January 7, 1937, in Gilmer, Texas. He graduated from Gilmer High School, received a B.S. from East Texas State University and his maters from Stephen F. Austin University. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. Mr. Davis started teaching public schools at Pine Tree High School. Then, he was employed by NASA and worked on the Apollo project. He taught computer science at Kilgore College for more than 20 years. After retiring from Kilgore College, he returned to Harmony, where he once went to school and became the first technology coordinator for Harmony High School. Mr. Davis served on the Union Grove School Board for 10 years. Mr. Davis was a member of the East Mountain Baptist Church. Bob was an avid hunter, golfer, loved woodworking, and traveling. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was especially good at spoiling his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Vernon Davis; and mother, Lillie Verline Davis Ross. Survivors include his wife, Dora Ione Davis of East Mountain, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Randall Dean Davis and Debbie Davis of East Mountain, Texas, and Stewart Dale Davis and Nancy Davis of Cut-N-Shoot, Texas; grandchildren, Benjamin Dean Davis, Lori Michele Davis, Zachary Dalton Davis, and Elizabeth Lillian Davis; brother, Jerry Donald Davis of Haynesville, Louisiana; and sister, Sandra Jean Bridges of Rockwall, Texas. Pallbearers will be Lon Cox, Mike Austell, Steve Tehan, Shaun Wiley, Andy Altman, and Dwyane Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Dyar, George Heath, Louis Fennel, Rex Morris, and Richard Harrison. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, November 3, 2006.
