Davis is Dead of Injuries From Auto Accident George Washington Davis, long (sic) a resident of Gilmer, but just recently moved to Longview, died at ten o’clock Wednesday morning from injuries received in an auto accident in Gregg Co. A native of Red River County, Texas, where he was born on March 25, 1894, he would have been 47 years old next month. Besides his (sic) frief-stricken widow, he is survived by five children: Mrs. Francis West, Corpus Christi; G.F. Davis, Clarence Davis, Goldie Davis, Franklin D. Davis and Mary E. Davis, all of Longview and Mrs. Louvinia Horton of Bogata, Texas. He also leaves to mourn his untimely death two brothers and three sisters: Jim Davis, Longview; Milford Davis, Adkins, Ark.; Mrs. Emma Davidson, Gilmer; Mrs. Dollie Wilson, Bettie and Mrs. Slettie Bean, Adkins, Ark. The deceased was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Gilmer. The remains were brought to Croley Undertakers, then to this home at 1003 E. Cotton, Longview, preceding the funeral which is to be held here MORE (sic) be held here Friday afternoon at two o’clock at Calvary Baptist Church, with burial at the City Cemetery, Gilmer. Funeral services will be held at two-thirty p. m. Friday at the Concord cemetery. Brother Jack Bullard will conduct the services.
