Davis, Ida Lou Roman   

GILMER -- Services for Ida Lou Roman Davis, 92, of Gilmer, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, June 25, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel of Gilmer, with Brother David Mayhan officiating. Mrs. Davis died peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Gilmer. Mrs. Davis was born February 8, 1914, as the eighth of 13 children to Daniel Titman Roman and Eva Mae Vice Roman. She was a lifetime resident of Upshur County and a member of Woodland Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Aubrey Davis; her daughter, Ida Ruth Green; granddaughter, Amanda Finigan; six brothers; and four sisters. Mrs. Davis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clayton and Patsy Davis of Gilmer; daughter, Nelwyn Finigan of Longview; brother, Preston Roman of Indio, Calif., sister, Vivian LaNell McGregor of Longview; sister-in-law, Helen Roman of Washington, Ill.; grandchildren, John Green, Nancy K. Green, Jeff Davis, Tracey Davis, and Brandon Finigan; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
