Dawson, Don Don Dawson, 55, of Liberty City, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, in a Longview hospital. He was born April 15, 1951, in Dallas, to Jack and Margorie Dawson. Don worked as a vehicle maintenance supervisor at Custom Commodities. He was in the trucking industry for more than 30 years in dispatch and management and loved to travel and snow ski. Don especially enjoyed spending time at the river with his river rats. He was a very loving husband who was greatly devoted to his work. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Melisa "Baby" Dawson; stepson, Cory Shipp; mother-in-law, Jewell Collier; one brother; one sister; his nieces and nephews; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, his father-in-law and a nephew. The family will receive friends this evening, June 26, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Cherokee Trace Cemetery in Gilmer. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 6/26/2006.
