DeWoody Jr., William "Bill" GILMER -- Services for William Rufus "Bill" DeWoody Jr. will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Mark Woodward officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow in Bluff City Cemetery of Bluff City, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006. Mr. DeWoody died Thursday, May 4, 2006, in Gilmer. Mr. DeWoody was born October 24, 1936, in Texarkana, Texas, to William Rufus DeWoody Sr. and Sarah Frances Westerfield DeWoody. He was raised in Prescott, Arkansas, until age three, when his family moved to Pittsburg, Texas, and he graduated from Pittsburg High School. He attended BMI Business School in Longview, Texas, and was in the Western Auto business and later for True Value until 1980. He then was in the real estate appraisal business until 1991 in Pittsburg, Texas. Mr. DeWoody was a member of Frank Sexton Masonic Lodge, Hella Shrine Temple 32nd Degree Scottish Rite in Corinth, Mississippi, and York Rite. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Kailey McKenna Jones. Mr. DeWoody Jr. is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jane; twin daughters, Ashley Jeanice and Allison Frances; sons, Mike DeWoody of Pittsburg, and Kent DeWoody of Pittsburg; step-son, Brian Jones of Longview; grandchildren, Dakota, Kole, Reece, and Devin DeWoody of Pittsburg, and Brianne and Austin Jones of Longview; a host of cousins; and many wonderful friends. Pallbearers will be Russell Wilson, Shannon Key, Ron Locklear, Ryan Lipman, Fred Betterton, Mark Disman, Leon Shipman, and Mark Metts. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Wallace, J.W.
