Denton, Donna GILMER -- Services for Donna Denton, 60, of Ore City, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with the Reverend Steve Dugger, the Reverend Tony Pierce, and the Reverend Pat Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Kelsey Cemetery of Upshur County. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer. Mrs. Denton was born October 17, 1945, in Austin, Texas, to Jack and Mildred Terrell Marrs. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, after a valiant battle with cancer. Mrs. Denton was a secretary for Northeast Texas Community College, a water aerobics instructor, and a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Ore City. Her talents included goard painting, church work, and singing. She loved her family, God, Christian music, and yardwork. She was a lover of all animals. Mrs. Denton was a joy to all those who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Gary Denton of Ore City; sons and daughters-in-law, John David and Brandy Lee of Gilmer, and Bobby and Katie Lee of Zillah, Washington; daughter and son-in-law, Deanne and Randall Tryon of Hallsville; brother, Jack Marrs of Crestview, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Jerry Baker of Korea, and Debbie Marrs of Crestview, Florida; step-children and spouses, Raymond and Patricia Denton of Little Mound, Belinda and Todd Young of Gilmer, Wesley Denton of Ore City, Almond Denton of White Oak, and Cassandra Denton of White Oak; 13 grandchildren; aunts and uncles, Ollie Stregles of Dallas, Hoye and Jerry Terrell of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and Donald and Kathleen Terrell of Little Rock, Arkansas; very close friend, Betty Maxwell of Ore City; and lots of special friends. Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Marrs; uncle, Melton Terrell; and grandmother, Ola Mae Terrell. Pallbearers will be Mike Denton, Charles Denton, James Moseley, Darrell Moseley, Todd Young, and Pete Wright.
