Elliott, Edith M.

A resident of Gladewater, Texas for 45 years, she passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at 3 p.m. at the age of 84. 

She moved to Baton Rouge in 1998 to be near her son and daughter-in-law. 

She is survived by her son, Jim Elliott and wife, Cindy; one sister, Billie Jo Bedingfield of Houston; one grandson, Sid Elliott and wife, Becky; two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Shelby Elliott of Irving, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Laurence and Chassie Click Elliott; husband, Sydney Byron Elliott; two sisters, Lillian Pace and Pearl Phelps; and two brothers, Leon Mayden and Hubert Mayden. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gladewater. A loving mother and wife, homemaker, seamstress and personal companion, Edith was a caring and sweet lady. 

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Clare Manor for their gentle care. Arrangements by Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will reopen at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, until service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Gladewater Memorial Park.
