Douglas "Doug" Fennell 
(November 25, 1944 - September 24, 2014) 


Graveside service for Douglas “Doug” Fennell, 69, of Gilmer 
will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Soules 
Chapel Cemetery, in Upshur County with Bro. Donny Chamberlain 
officiating. Interment will be in Soules Chapel Cemetery. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home 
in Gilmer. Mr. Fennell passed away Wednesday, September 24, 
2014.

Mr. Fennell was born November 25, 1944 in Upshur County to 
William L. “Bill” and Faye Hill Fennell. He was a retired 
Operator with Stroh’s Brewery in Longview.

He is survived by his son, Dwayne Fennell and wife, Ellena 
of Gilmer; his daughter, Shannon McFadden of Longview; three 
grandchildren, Jessica Fudge, Shaylee Fennell and Allie 
Fennell; step-grandchildren, Haden and Shelby White; two 
sisters, Laverne Elms of Longview and Una Partin of Waxahachie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. "Bill" 
Fennell and Faye Fennell; and his brother, Howard Lavon Fennell.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. 
to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 at Croley Funeral 
Home in Gilmer.
