Florence, Mrs Crosby

Funeral services for Mrs Crosby Florence, 76, lifetime resident 
of Upshur County, were held Tuesday afternoon at Rhonesboro 
Baptist Church. Dr. DeRoyce Robertson and Dr J K Cartlidge 
officiated. Burial was in Grice Cemetery. 

Mrs Florence died Sunday morning at M D Anderson Hospital in 
Houston after a long illness. She was the former Mable Schrum. 
She married Crosby Florence at Ronesboro on November 10, 1910. 
Mr Florence preceded her in death on Jul 28, 1962. 

Mrs Florence had been a Baptist since girlhood. Surviving are 
two brothers, Roger Schrum of Dallas, and Jake Schrum of 
Rhonesboro; four sisters, Mrs Anna Dickenson of Stamford, Texas, 
Miss Ara Schrum and Mrs M C Florence, both of Rhonesboro and Mrs 
S R LaRue of Dallas, and a number of nieces and nephews. 
Pallbearers were Harold Williams, Caroll Bobo, Dee Johnson, 
Donald Whisenhunt, Edward Loyless, Milton Chafin. Honorary 
pallbearers were C W Nickell, Joe Harwell, Duane James, Martel 
Wall, J L Cross, Pete Johnson, George Joseph, Wylie Turner, 
Cullus Wade, Moody Williams, George Whisenhunt, Edward Simpson, 
Moody Dacus, George Lawler, Roy Harper, John Silasberry, Dr Ben 
Harry, Baulware Gree, Bill Amos, Sherman James, and T C Weatherby.
