Fowler, Lillian V. Edwards 


GILMER -- Services for Lillian V. Edwards Fowler, 94, of Arlington, Texas, formerly 
of Gilmer, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006, at Calvary Baptist Church 
in Gilmer, with Brother Randy Stracener and Brother Jack Longrear officiating. Burial 
will follow in Concord Cemetery of Upshur County. Mrs. Fowler passed away Wednesday, 
January 25, 2006, in Arlington, Texas. She was born July 20, 1911, in Lamar County, 
Texas, and was a longtime resident of Gilmer, before moving to Arlington. She was a
member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gilmer. Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her 
parents, Daniel Forney Payne and Texies Ellander Bynum Payne; two sisters, Nora 
Pritchett and Etta Duncan; brothers, Floyd Payne and Rossville Payne; four sons, Lacey, 
Leon, Donald, and Ronald; and one daughter-in-law, Lora Edwards. She is survived by her 
children and their spouses, Eugene and Martha Matthews of Batesville, Ark., Peggy 
Edwards of Kingsland, Texas, William Daniel "Bill" Edwards of Burnet, Texas, Joe and 
Paula Edwards of Chesapeake, Va., Randy and Veneda Sprague of Walsenberg, Colo., Roy 
Donald and Pat Edwards of Hubert, N.C., and Terry and Georgia Sue Eaton of Arlington, 
Texas. Lillian was blessed with 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five 
great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren. Lillian was loved 
by her family and will be missed tremendously.
