Green, Gertha Mae Hamberlin GILMER -- Services for Gertha Mae Hamberlin Green, 90, of Gilmer, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2006, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home of Gilmer, with Weldon Gilbert and John Melvin Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. this evening, January 26, 2006. Mrs. Green passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2006, in Longview, Texas. She was born August 27, 1915, in Gilmer, Texas, to James "Jim" and Kozy Pearl Bamburg Hamberlin. She was a pharmacy technician for 47 years, until her retirement from Shafer's Pharmacy. Her first love was working in her garden, and her second love was cooking. Mrs. Green is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Green Ferguson and Ross Ferguson of Gilmer; two grandchildren, Steve and his wife, Shana, Ferguson, of White Oak, and Glynna Ferguson of Gilmer; and four great-grandchildren, Jacklyn Irwin of Gilmer, Lindsay Irwin of Gilmer, Morgan Ferguson of White Oak, and Cody Gage of White Oak. She was preceded in death by husband, Curtis Dee Green; great-grandson, Joshua Irwin; brother, Cecil Hamberlin; sisters, Marie Amos and Helen Courtemache; and twin sister, Gerta Lae Hamberlin.
