Services for Leah B. Gibson, 81, of Gilmer will be held 2p.m. Tuesday May 10, 2016 in the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Grice Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday May 9, 2016.

Leah was born January 31, 1935 to Marion and Dorothy Terrell She passed away Thursday May 6, 2016 in Tyler. 

On June 16, 1952 she married Wesley “Wink” Gibson. Mrs. Gibson was the retired Cafeteria Manager for Harmony ISD and a member of Rosewood Baptist Church. 

She always enjoyed cooking and preparing the big family meals. The part she really loved was to sit back and watch everyone dig in.

She was survived by her children; Connie Hunter, Ricky Gibson, Roni Caskey, Leann Johnston. Grandchildren; Candice Davidson, Michael Gibson, Wesley Youngblood, Rikki Seely, Jordan Alsadi, Dillion Schmidt, Rachel Johnston, Caleb Johnston, and Clayton Caskey. 10 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gibson is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years Wesley “Wink” Gibson, daughter Karen Schmidt, Great grandchild Cole Thompson, brother; Billy Terrell and sisters; Jerry Proctor and Joyce Martin.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gibson, Wesley Youngblood, Dillion Schmidt, Brennan Thompson, Hunter Youngblood, Caleb Johnston, Clayton Caskey, and Zac Davidson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Everett, Jacob Gibson, Cale Gibson, and Gunner Alsadi.
