Willie D. Harris On June 12,1927, Spencer and Coreen Harris welcomed a bouncing baby boy into the world, Willie D. Harris is what they named him. This was a joyous day in the city of Carthage, Texas. Willie recieved his formal education in Carthage Public Schools. The family later moved to Gilmer, Texas, where he later married the love of his life, Mrs. Donnie Bell Davis. The newlyweds moved to Fort Worth, Texas. To this union six children were born, a son Willie James Harris preceded him in death. Willie was loyal and faithful in the church, and was a member of Harris Temple Church Of God In Christ, under the pastorage of his brother Rev. S.K. Harris. Willie retired from American Manufacturing and from being a self- employed landscaper, one of the first landscapers in Fort Worth, Tx. Willie was also a seasonal employee of the Fort Worth Stock Show. Willie passed through the pearly gates headed to his mansion on high on Sunday, March 16,2003 at 8:05 p.m. Left behind to mourn are his wife, Mrs. Donnie Bell Harris; sons Spencer (Taffeta) Harris, III, and Willie Hale; daughters, Wanda Harris, Linda Jackson, Donna Lawrence, and Pamela Akuma; brothers, Joe (Hazel), S.K. (Hazel), Austin ( Essie), Bennie ( Nell), and Spencer Harris, Jr.; sisters, Melvine Warren and Addie ( Esque) Sanders; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Willie's parents, one son, four sisters, two brothers and one great-grandson preceded him in death. Interment: Cedar Hill Memorial Park Mansfield, Texas
