Helms, Betty Jackson Funeral services for Betty Jackson Helms, 73, of Longview, will be held noon Monday, July 31, 2006, at the First Assembly of God Church at 2900 North Fourth Street in Longview, with the Reverend Randy Carter and the Reverend A.A. Callaway officiating. Burial will be in Morris Cemetery near Gilmer. She passed away Thursday evening, July 27, 2006, at a Longview hospital. Mrs. Helms was born July 1, 1933, in Columbus, Ga., to Walter M. Jackson Jr. and Mildred Brookins Jackson. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. For 54 years, she stood faithful alongside her husband who was in full time ministry with the Assemblies of God denomination. Mrs. Helms was always lending a helping hand to her family and friends. She was always thinking about other people, no matter what her situation was. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and will forever be in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter M. Jackson Jr.; and her son, Walter Neal Helms. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Nathan Helms of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Letha and Ted Dwigans of Houston, and Lana and Larry Gabriel of Georgetown; grandchildren, David Dwigans, Aron Warren and wife, Monica, and Sean Gabriel; great-granddaughter, Ariana Warren; mother, Mildred Jackson of Columbus, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Mary Jackson of Pensacola, Fla., and Gerald and Barbara Jackson of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
