Ronald Carl Hedrick 
(January 5, 1943 - September 29, 2014) 

Ronald “Ronnie” Carl Hedrick, a US Veteran, died in his home 
on September 29, 2014, in Gilmer, Texas after a courageous 
battle with cancer. 

Mr. Hedrick was born on January 5, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia 
to his parents, Ida May Tickle Hedrick and Carl Greene Hedrick. 
He grew up in Bluefield, West Virginia. He married Ruth Alene 
Jackson in 1976. 

Ronnie served in the Navy and then worked for Southwestern 
Bell/AT&T for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of 
the American Legion and the First United Methodist Church in 
Gilmer. Mr. Hedrick is survived by his wife, Ruth; step-daughter, 
Deborah Ruth Kent (Eddie Kent); grandchildren, LaDonna Fox 
Schneller(Ian Schneller) and Chris Fox (Yen Fox); and great-
grandchildren, Cole Schneller, Carson Schneller and Morgan Fox. 

He will be remembered in a private family gathering. As per his 
wishes, no public services will be held. Cremation arrangements 
are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
