Henderson, Veaulah Verdine GILMER - Funeral services for Veaulah Verdine Henderson, 82, of Gilmer, will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Brother Paul Knight and Brother Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Henderson passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born January 20, 1925, in Panola County to Lucious Adam and Lena Mae Clay Helton. She was a retired school teacher, having taught first and third grades for 24 years with Mings Chapel, Coffeyville, New Diana ISD and Harmony ISD. She was a member of Glade Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Henderson is survived by her husband of almost 57 years, the Rev. J.C. Henderson of Gilmer; son and daughter-in-law, Elwyn and Kathy Henderson of Gilmer; daughter and son- in-law, Carlene and Guy Needham of Porter; granddaughters Tabitha Needham and Melody Needham of Porter; and Jennifer Cobb of Ruston, La.; sisters and brother-in-law, Rilla and Eldridge Faircloth of Henderson and Faye Johnson and friend, James Hesser, of Longview; brothers and sisters-in-law, L.A. and Betty Helton of Tomball, Lessie and Mary Lou Helton of Pearland and Forest and Elaine Helton of Carthage; sister-in-law, Mary Fowler of Pittsburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucious Adam and Lena Mae Helton; and a brother, the Rev. Jesse Helton. Pallbearers will be Charles Cox, Rex Youngblood, Billy Maddox, Darryl Wilson, Mickey Buchannon and Larry Coulter. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, July 29, 2007 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
