Hill, William "Bill" GLADEWATER - Catholic Mass and funeral for William "Bill" Hill, 72, of Gladewater, will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2007, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Don Demski and the Rev. Jones Jayaraj officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at West Mountain Cemetery. Born January 27, 1925, in Rochester, New York, he died Saturday, September 8, 2007. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Japan and Okinawa. While stationed at Camp Fannin, he met and later married LaWauna Perdue on June 22, 1946. He was superintendent for B.B. Reese Construction, having retired after 27 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, LaWauna Hill of Gladewater; daughter and son- in-law, Judy and Wade Hopson of Rowlett; two grandsons, Andrew Hopson and Matthew Hopson, both of Rowlett; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Madalyn Hill; and one brother, Paul R. Hill. Pallbearers will be David Galbraith, Lawrence Galbraith III, Don Galbraith, Wayne McDonald, Jackie Glenn Wood and Ruel Carrington. A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. today, September 9, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater, and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 9/9/2007.
