Hopkins, Debra DIANA -- Funeral services for Debra Hopkins, 52, of Diana, will be 10 a.m. today, March 5, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Diana with the Rev. Gary May and the Rev. Mike Brittain officiating. Interment will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Debra passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Longview. Debra was born September 30, 1954, in Hughes Springs to Joe Edward and Eugenia Watts Jones. She was a newspaper carrier for the Longview News-Journal. She married Jerry Hopkins on November 30, 1988, in Texarkana. She was a member of Morton Baptist Church. Debra loved her children and grandchildren. She was the most loving mother and grandmother, faithful friend, wonderful daughter, sister, sister-in-law and aunt that God ever created. She was happiest when doing for others. She is survived by her mother, Jean Jones of Diana; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Robin Jones of Diana; two daughters and son-in-law, Kristen and Michael Simmons of Diana and Teresa Loeza of Diana; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jordan Wootten of Tyler and Jerry Paul and Rosalie Hopkins of Texarkana. Debra also had eight very special grandchildren, Makayla and Logan Simmons, Kaylee, Jacey and Julia Loeza, Dylan and Rylan Hopkins and Britney Simons. Debra was preceded in death by her father, Joe Jones; brother, Terry Jones; and her soulmate and husband, Jerry Hopkins. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 3/5/2007.
