UPSHUR COUNTY - OAK HILL CEMETERY


Celebration of Life for Jerry Lynn "PopPop" Harris, 67, of Gilmer will be held 2 P.M. Monday, February 29, 2016 with Bro. Randal Hodges officiating at the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Jerry was born on May 30, 1948 to C.A. and Ruby Elizabeth Green Harris in Gilmer. He passed away February 25, 2016 in Longview.

Mr. Harris was a graduate of Gilmer High School Class of 1966 he was a track and football star. Jerry also served his country in the U.S. Navy, and retired from Upshur Rural Electric.

He is survived by his wife Patti Harris, Daughter; Patti “Sissy” Wright, Juanita Langford, Erica Flatt and Britney Arnold. Sons; Aaron Harris, Zachary Harris, and Hiban Cornelio. Brother; Roy Harris, Sisters; Ann Stevens, Donna Dugger, and Barbara Wright. Grandchildren; Jordin Garrett, Jaden Wright, Ashton Wright, Savannah Langford, and Sydney Grace Langford. Great grandchildren; Kendall Salazar, Kinly Hawkins, Kaley Hawkins, Kenna Faith Hawkins, and every child or friend that lived, loved and became a part of our extended family.

Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Doyle L. Harris, son; Jerry Lynn Harris Jr., and son in law Jimmy Dale Wright.
